Inspired by 5am.

My weeks all look pretty similar, several mornings during the week I am in the knee deep in clay in the ceramics studio. Most afternoons are either spent with friends, working on my etsy, or working on a project.

And 3-4 mornings of the week I work as a 'visuals specialist' at a retail store, I do a little merchandising, and I work on/create most of the visual displays in my store.
For these mornings, I am up for work far before the sun comes up and usually try to take Alabama on a really short walk.

Honestly? During these little walks we take, my head is pounding from lack of sleep, my body is sore, and usually pretty gritty, and bitter for being awake so early.
But as much as I hate it, and try to fight every moment of it, this is my favorite bitter-sweet times of the day.
The way the air is so fresh, like it itself had just woken up. And the sun is just past the horizon, lighting the clouds on fire.
It's the best moments of the day.

A great find

Hehehehe I found this on a thrift store raid...

Celebration!

Today is my moms birthday.
I think its appropriate to celebrate her life! I have been so incredibly blessed by her through out my life and could ask for a better example of how to live each day to the fullest.

Last month-at 63 years old, she climbed Mt. Whitney-the highest point in the Continental U.S.!
Can you believe that? How unreal is that?!

Happy birthday mom!

Bunting, bannering, fuuunnnn

So as some of you know I had given myself a challenge in June... I didn't post all of my photos on here, and I dont want to drag that out much longer, so I thought I would just post one last photo from that... I made some bunting out of vintage fabric, and added some fun ribbon to it, easy enough, right??
Anyway, it has added loads of color in my place(not that it needed anymore color!!) and its pretty playful.

I also updated my banner for my blog... what do you think??
