By the water.

Near where I live is the Martinez bay-marshland area. It is very small, and kind of sketchy since it is so close to rail road system, but I love it there.  The wind is also blowing, and the surrounding hills seem to always be green.  We try to go out there at least once a week just because it is so peaceful, and fresh. The last time we were there I was adventuring around-finding little shells, and sea glass and little bones, and before I knew it, I was sinking in sand! Well maybe mud or clay, but with out a doubt in my mind, I was sinking! I was pretty scared, but I trust Ryan with my life, and he pulled me out before I had the opportunity to let panic sink it.  I was up to my upper shin in mud... After all of it, it was another beautiful day.
Needless to say, I am a little more careful on the shore.

as strange as it is, I have a small crab collection, I love these little weirdos.

Adventures!

A couple of weeks ago, Ryan and I spent a weekend going on a bunch of different hikes... we were blessed with incredible weather and gorgeous cotton like clouds.  It was also toad mating season, and we saw so many of them I lost count! They made this weird bird chirping like sound, my guess is that it was a warning of sorts.  The pound was FULL of stringy strands of eggs, I can't imagion how many poly-wogs are there now!

look at these eggs-can you see the strands in the background??

mustard and lupine everywhere!!

Out and About.

I know I haven't been here in awhile... but I was looking through some photos and realized that I have been on some amazing adventures lately. I wanted to share some of them with all of you, and decided that instead of talking about where I've been... that I would just dive right in and try to be a little bit more present from here on out! The weather in California has been incredible to say the least, and I have been hiking like crazy! I've been all over the hills, up and down the coast and exploring all around.  When I am in nature, I feel amazing. I feel the most alive-the sun on my face, the wind on my skin, and creatures lurking around every corner.
This first bunch are a few of my favorites from hiking on the coast, and from a camping trip... more to come!
