Unreal Garage sale Finds.

This past weekend I had Saturday off and decided that I would visit a few garage sales looking for some goodies for my etsy, and low and behold I found some amazing things.

I found a few things for myself, including 4 old blue Mason jars, for only 1 buck a piece!

After making some conversation with the home-owners, the little old lady came over to me holding a huge jar and said 'This might interest you, its shark vertebrae.' 

Yes... SHARK VERTEBRAE!

I couldn't resist. 

So I bought a Gallon jar full of the stuff.

She had painted some of them black and red to make jewelry, but they were so amazing just natural that I was determined to get them back to it... I separated the natural ones from the painted ones, and began some cleanup! 

Rinsed the natural ones with hot water, and vinegar to kill the smell. 

And then drenched the painted ones in some diluted bleach. 

I repeated it three times... 

And finally they are back to their natural color. 

Anyway.. I added some to one of the blue mason jars. 

Gorgeous... right??

Tick, Tock...

Yesterday I went to a Vintage flea  market with Amb. We had such a good time! After weaving in and out of 20+ aisles of vintage goodies, we both walked away with such great goodies! 

I love looking at all of the old things... I realize how young I am, and how my life has only been a blink long.

It makes me feel small. 

And I love that.

Maybe that's one of the reasons I love older things...

Maybe it's the fact that in the world we live in now, everything is replaced so easily, and through out the years, these are some of the things that have lasted.

Or maybe I just love the look of it all. 

Whatever the reason, I am a huge lover of vintage, mod, retro.......

Like I said in a previous post, I have become obsessed with clocks.

And radios. 

And clock-radios. 

Anyway! These are a few of my finds from yesterday...

This little girl is such a beauty.

After work today I was looking at some of my finds, playing with them, cleaning them up a little bit, and I realized that I hadn't tested all of my clocks... 

I lined them up, I wound them all, and let 'em rip!

Most of these are for my etsy, but a few of them are just for me.

To my surprise, they all work. 

:) 

#17 Thrift Thursday

Today is THRIFT THURSDAY!! 

On my searching today I found a couple of things that I am really excited about!

Do you ever see a glass, or kitchen utensil, or lamp, or just something you see and are instantly determined to find one for yourself? 

Well... I get that way.

Awhile back, I saw someone drinking from a glass and I have been set to find them since. It's just a simple glass with scallops on the sides, but I have been obsessing over this particular size for awhile, and today I found it! I felt pretty good about that.

3 really tall-white-scentless candles which I LOVE. 

3 different sizes of hurricane vases which I have some crafty ideas for, but I also like them as is.

4 different colored zippers.

#10 is THRIFT Thursday!

So! I know I am behind on my challenge... SORRY GUYS!!
My dad was in town this week, and I got a little distracted... hope you understand!
So today I just did some errands, and I went to some thrift stores!
I found some really cool stuff!! Some glass Pyrex jars with white lids, a couple of things for more PROJECTS! I found a couple of things for my website, and the best finds were these old radios. One is a GE brand clock radio and is SUPER retro, I sort of love it.  It goes so well with some of my bright colored furniture!
The best find EVER is this wooden radio! It works like a dream, and is so beautiful! When you turn it on, the tubes take a few minutes to warm up, but when they do, there is a light behind all of the numbers, this little guy just has SO much character. I'm obsessed with it and am just scouring my place to find the PERFECT spot for it...
