October Challenge #3

For Day 3, I made some bracelets! These are made out of polymar clay, and because I am trying not to spend any extra money for this challenge, I painted all of them.
I think these are really cute... I think if I made them with colored clay, I could sell them. What do you think?

Hehe I thought they looked like shrimp sushi when they were drying!

All in all, I thought they looked really cute.
Is it just me, or does it look a little bit like leather?

October Challenge #2

I love fall. It's easily my favorite season.
Something about the weather, or all of the colors, or the fact that it leads to Christmas, I am obsessed with it.
For #2, I wanted to do something VERY simple, and  something that any one can do.  On a walk with Alabama today I collected as many acorns, and fall goodies I could fit in my pockets.
Strangely enough, on the trail behind my place are a ton of oak trees, but each one had different acorns. Some had thin ones, others were HUGE, and my favorite ones were little tiny buttons. no bigger than a finger tip.
I was also watching squirrels scrounge up as many as they could because of the weather change as of late.
Don't worry-I only took the brown, or damaged ones!

So today my project was just to decorate for fall... show me photos of your decorations for fall!

Craft fair!

Check out my tiny set-up for my very first crafts fair! I thought it looked adorable :)

October Challenge-Day 1.

So! I have decided to do another month long challenge... I have far too much time on my hands, and I need something to challenge me, and think the last time I did this, I loved it. I would love it if anyone wants to join along, or wants to give ideas, or help, or what ever.

Here goes nothin'!

Day #1- Today I just made 4 little bird heads... I have a ton of ideas for them, I will assemble them into something for another day!

Firsts.

Okay-since I haven't been doing much since I graduated, I started making a lot of crafts.  Just to keep me occupied, and keep my hands busy!
This weekend I am doing my very first crafts fair! It's a really small one, and I don't have high expectations, but I am really looking forward to hearing some feedback about what I am making, and the reaction people have to it.
So far, I have 15 crowns, 18 headbands, 20-something pairs of earrings, and a few lavender sachets.  I am planning on making quite a bit more before Saturday just so I can be prepared.
Here's what I have so far, what do y'all think?

(I will post more photos of all of it, when its all ready!)

Summer time fruits.

Alabama looooves fruit.
Honestly?
She loves anything she can eat. For such a little dog, she is sort like a trash can.

Will devour anything edible.

Peach Salsa!

So last year my mom gave me a book about canning, and preserving yummy recipes, and lets face it- I have had a LOT of free time on my hands, so among other recipes, I made a peach salsa.
And lets just say.
It was amazing. So bright and colorful, and fresh! I made two huge jars of it, and between myself and the bear, it's all gone.
I'm planning to make some more and preserve it with legit canning techniques so I can give it as gifts and keep it for longer.
Every summer my aunt and uncle grow massive amounts of tomatoes, and these tomatoes are so delicious.
Seriously?
The best.
Ever.
Like so good that I wait year round.  When I see the yellow tomatoes, I grab with no remorse and essentially sort of hoard them...
oops!
Anyway-tomorrow night we are using my canning book to make homemade marinera sauce.
I'm not going to lie, I am pretty pumped.
Homemade sauce, made with homegrown tomatoes.
Enough said.

(photos will follow!)
