Spring has Sprung!

I am back!  And hopefully better than ever!! For the longest time, I tried to keep this blog going.  It was painstaking, and I ultimately gave up on it because I ran out of ideas, motivation, things to say... BLAH-BLAH-BLAH. I have decided to go in a different direction, and post about things that I am currently passionate about. Yes, I will do DIY's, but this will mostly be about my life.  Hiking, home remedies, easy meals, and trying (so hard) to have a urban garden with practically no space.

Currently, I am living in a little house in the Bay Area, with my honey, and our two dogs.  I am dreaming about the day that we can have a little piece of land and all the privacy a girl could ask for, the space to grow, and work, and maybe even have some critters. We go hiking and adventuring on the weekends, and I am a sales rep for a organic veggie(plant) company during the week.  No, I don't consider myself a hippie. Yes, I am totally obsessed with nature and being outside.

You get the point... right?

This past week we finally got some rain, and my bulb box exploded!  I didn't even remember what I had planted a few months ago, and I was so thrilled to see these beauties.

Terrier Tuesday!!

It's just been one of those days.
One obstacle after another, my car broke down & once we fixed it, something else immediately broke.
Now I am sitting on the couch with a little bosty snuggled up to me.
There's no where else I would rather be.

By the water.

Near where I live is the Martinez bay-marshland area. It is very small, and kind of sketchy since it is so close to rail road system, but I love it there.  The wind is also blowing, and the surrounding hills seem to always be green.  We try to go out there at least once a week just because it is so peaceful, and fresh. The last time we were there I was adventuring around-finding little shells, and sea glass and little bones, and before I knew it, I was sinking in sand! Well maybe mud or clay, but with out a doubt in my mind, I was sinking! I was pretty scared, but I trust Ryan with my life, and he pulled me out before I had the opportunity to let panic sink it.  I was up to my upper shin in mud... After all of it, it was another beautiful day.
Needless to say, I am a little more careful on the shore.

as strange as it is, I have a small crab collection, I love these little weirdos.

Adventures!

A couple of weeks ago, Ryan and I spent a weekend going on a bunch of different hikes... we were blessed with incredible weather and gorgeous cotton like clouds.  It was also toad mating season, and we saw so many of them I lost count! They made this weird bird chirping like sound, my guess is that it was a warning of sorts.  The pound was FULL of stringy strands of eggs, I can't imagion how many poly-wogs are there now!

look at these eggs-can you see the strands in the background??

mustard and lupine everywhere!!

Out and About.

I know I haven't been here in awhile... but I was looking through some photos and realized that I have been on some amazing adventures lately. I wanted to share some of them with all of you, and decided that instead of talking about where I've been... that I would just dive right in and try to be a little bit more present from here on out! The weather in California has been incredible to say the least, and I have been hiking like crazy! I've been all over the hills, up and down the coast and exploring all around.  When I am in nature, I feel amazing. I feel the most alive-the sun on my face, the wind on my skin, and creatures lurking around every corner.
This first bunch are a few of my favorites from hiking on the coast, and from a camping trip... more to come!

Wait, 2012 is over?!

I cannot believe this year is over!!
But to be totally honest, I am happy to see it go, and very excited for this brand new year to start!
I have high hopes for 2013, and am going to make this one count!
One for the record books!
I'm going to make this one memorable!
My resolution is to make this year full!
I want to be able to say, "Oh, remember in 2013,-----" or,
"Yeah! I did----- in 2013!!"

You know??

Anyway! I hope nothing but the best for you, and yours in 2013!!

Sweet Crochet Diy

Easy pretty crochet DIY tutorial!
I found some pretty vintage crochet table runners at an estate sale this past weekend and I have been cutting and putting them everywhere! I thought this looked so pretty! Hope you like it!

1. lay out your fabric
2. cut outer frilly rim off
3. carefully trim all excess
4. take all remaining threads, and clean up all edges

found this amazing leather work bag at the same estate sale!

Along with the wall hanging piece, I also made these really sweet little ornaments! Check 'em out!
